The Journal of Local Public Economics (JLPE) is the result of the activities proposed by the International Association of Local Public Economics AC, (IALPE AC), but since 2009, economic researchers from different institutions organized to carry out the First Seminar on Local Public Economics in the Faculty of Economics of the Universidad Michoacana San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSHN) in the city of Morelia, where the association was formally established.
It was not until 2016 when it was proposed that the Journal of Local Public Economics (JLPE) would be one more activity when the AIEPL AC was constituted and in 2018, after completing the corresponding procedures, the first issue appeared.
